Anyone who grew up with me knows I'm a total raptor geek. I spent way too many long car rides just staring out the window, geeking out when I spotted red tailed hawks and the occasional eagle or falcon. It has long been my dream to get a falconer's license, so of course I watch some places on Facebook so I can see birds being flown.

One of the pages I watch, Elite Falconry www.facebook.com/elitefalconry in the UK needs help to raise enough money to purchase a Golden Eagle named Stanley. Here's the story ~

"A little story. If you go back through our timeline, you'll read, especially during the past winter, about Stanley, our previous male Golden Eagle. He was bought in as a breeding partner for our female. However, the pairing didn't work out. We realised we would have to sell Stanley to raise the money we needed to buy another potential mate for our female eagle. We did however, decide to fly Stanley through the 2012 / 2013 before he was to be put up for sale. Well we have to say, he was awesome. We pushed and pushed him, and the little bugger got right under our skin. He, after much hard work, turned out brilliantly, and it was with much sorrow that we saw him go. He did go to a good home though, and we planned to stay in touch to watch and see him develop. The new eagle came, and on first impressions, he does seem compatible with our female, so that at least looks positive.
However, due to unforeseen and serious issues that have arisen for Stanley's new owner, Stanley has to be sold! We are really sad about that fact, and really don't want him to go to just any home. More than that, we realise how much we miss him, and we really want him back. We have 24 hours to raise the cash and make the decision to bring him 'Home'. Any ideas gratefully received. :-( "

Now, I know this story isn't going to get much in the way of recognition from my little post, but here's what you can do to help -
If you have any ideas head over to their Facebook page and shout them out! While you're at it, repost their story if you can. Also, like their page while you're at it, they're in the middle of training a White-tailed Sea Eagle and they routinely post videos of her progress!
